Last year was indeed another year of God showing how faithful He is in our lives. And before the year ends, my husband received another awesome blessing, a blessing of promotion. However, this blessing actually requires him/us to relocate here in Davao and leave all of our family and friends in Manila. Huge decision right? With all honesty, we are hesitant at first (with all the news about Mindanao) if we are to relocate or not. But then we know that it is in His master plan for us to relocate. We finally relocated with high hopes and prayer that everything will go well and that favor from God will always be upon us.
And Yes, He never fails.

As of this writing, Davao City has been our home for the last 4 months and counting. So far, we are enjoying fully an awesome life at this Big City, something that we never expected. Davao is a very peaceful place with great surroundings, people and local government. Peace is the top most priority in this city and as what the locals say "bawal ang loko-loko dito" is a solid fact. Rank 1st most peaceful city in the Philippines, 2nd in Asia and 9th in the World. Crime rate: less than 30%.

If Manila would be like Davao (which on my opinion is already hard to achieve) then maybe............... :).
Well, all I just really wanted to say is, I love Davao City!

1. Lachi’s Sans Rival ATBP

Lachis in Marfori Heights

Home cooked meals and mouth-watering cakes and deserts are the pride of this restaurant. Is it that good? Absolutely Yes! It is sumptuous, filling, great food and cool desserts. Something to rave and write about. You cannot leave the restaurant unfulfilled. You leave the room smiling and saying, "there should be a next time". You can’t just have enough. And you will be tempted to go back and pig out over and over again.

Best Sellers:

✰✰✰✰✰ Durian Sans Rival: One of the restaurant's best seller. Crunchy meringue layers with nuts and butter icing with hints of durian. It is surely a delight, especially the butter icing, always a favorite. I must say this dessert is not for calorie conscious people.

✰✰✰✰✰ Symphony Torte: seven layers of sponge cake, chocolate ganache, sponge cake, coffee butter cream, sponge cake, coffee butter cream and topped with chocolate ganache. Different wonderful textures and subtleties. You’ll just close your eyes and indulge on it.

Lachi’s also serves lunch and dinner food with rice. Of the dishes we tried, below are the standouts:

✰✰✰✰✰ Laing: Writing about the "Laing" makes my mouth water. The dish bites, but with that delicious laing flavor that you want to pair your hot steamed rice with, never mind if you’re perspiring a lot. It tastes so good.

✰✰✰✰✰ Any pork ribs on the menu: One word to describe. Tender.

The food and cakes really taste great, one thing only that I don't like... SLOW SERVICE!!!
I hope they can do something about it.
